Born and raised in New Orleans, JJ Boudreaux loves food, especially Cajun Cooking!  He spent two years perfecting his mom's own gumbo recipe to be packaged and distributed to anyone who wants an awesome home-cooked Cajun meal in 30 minutes.

This is a Gumbo base.  Mix one package to 10 cups of water, add 1-1 1/2 lb of the meat of your choice, bring to boil, reduce heat and let simmer for 30min.

Stovetop Directions

MIX: 2½ cups cold water, Jambalaya Seasoned Rice Mix, protein of your choice (smoked sausage, cooked chicken, or shrimp) and 1 tbs. vegetable or olive oil (optional) in a 3qt. saucepan until well-blended.

COOK: Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer 30 minutes or until rice is tender. (If using cooked shrimp, add to mixture during the last 5 minutes of cooking time.

REMOVE: Take pot off of heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork and serve.
